Gwen Stefani, solo artist and the lead singer of American rock band No Doubt, has tied the knot this month with country music star Blake Shelton.
The 51-year-old California born songstress and her new husband have been engaged for eight months, and finally exchanged vows on July 3rd in a stunning intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family at Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma. A purpose-built chapel was erected for the event, and the pair chose their friend television host Carson Daley to officiate the ceremony.
The happy couple have been in a relationship since 2015, after Stefani divorced British singer-songwriter Gavin Rossdale. Sheldon had also ended his marriage with American county singer Miranda Lambert a few weeks previously. Last month, Stefani gave a sneak peek into her upcoming nuptial preparations, including a photo of a card containing wedding invitations for her parents. The happy bride opted for two wedding dresses during the day, and a lavish multi-tier designer cake designed by acclaimed wedding cake artist Lauren Kitchens took centre stage, complete with a cowboy cake topper.
The new blended family includes Stefani’s three sons from her previous marriage. Kingston, Zuma and Apollo played a key part in the wedding celebrations, with their names embroidered on their mother’s veil in ornate lettering. A source close to the family stated that Shelton is a “great dad” to his new step-sons, and the three boys were said to have given their blessing for the wedding to take place.
