We recently reported on Leona Lewis’s choice of three separate wedding day outfits, and now Ellie Goulding has gone and revealed a jaw-dropping fifth wedding dress – in black.

The singer’s August nuptials at Castle Howard in Yorkshire had already included four outfits. Several weeks after the wedding, Ellie then took to Instagram to add snaps of her fifth ensemble, a “dark twisted fantasy” in ebony.

The strapless gown featured a full skirt and belted waist, and the “Your Song” singer posed under the dramatic arches of the castle to create the atmospheric shot that she shared.

Some serious time has been devoted to creating the perfect wedding gowns for the singer. For the ceremony itself she donned a Chloe gown that took almost 650 hours to make, then swapped to a diamond-trimmed, off-the-shoulder Stella McCartney number for the reception.

By night, Ellie danced in a Ralph and Russo creation comprising a beautiful silk bodice embellished with pearls and an evening skirt. This was then followed by the fourth outfit – a Balmain mini dress designed for purely for fun by the singer’s pal, designer Olivier Rousteing.

Despite being one of the key trendsetters this wedding season, Ellie went traditional with her main wedding gown choice. The Chloe creation in silk was decorated with White Roses of York, demonstrating the continuing trend for floral dresses, as well as decorations and wedding invitations.

It remains to be seen whether this multiple-outfit trend will be embraced by the public, or will be a fad merely glimpsed at some of the biggest weddings of 2019.
