According to reports, Friends star Courtney Cox and her partner, Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid, are planning to be wed later in the year at an intimate ceremony in Northern Ireland.

The couple are said to be planning to say their vows in Derry, which is McDaid’s hometown in Northern Ireland. It is rumoured that this will take place this coming Christmas, with Cox’s 17-year-old daughter Coco acting as bridesmaid. It isn’t known if wedding invites have been sent out to guests as of yet.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the pair recently had to be apart for nine months. McDaid had left America to travel to Switzerland, but his plans had to change due to the pandemic, and he went to the UK instead. Travel restrictions meant they couldn’t be together, and as reported by Closer, as soon as restrictions were lifted, they decided they wanted to get married.

A source told Closer that the stars are intending to marry at a local church in Derry and then hold their reception nearby at a castle with 1,000 acres of private land. As well as daughter Coco, the bridal party is said to also involve Cox’s co-star Jennifer Aniston, who will be maid of honour.

The couple were recently together at the Isle of Wight Festival, at which Snow Patrol headlined. Cox and McDaid have been together since 2014, prior to which the actress was married to actor David Arquette, who she starred alongside in the film Scream.
