Disneyland Paris recently paid host to a couple who had the first wedding of its kind at the theme park, when a pair of Disney fans held their two-day Bollywood wedding at the French resort.

The couple plumped for Disneyland Paris as the place to hold their extravagant nuptials, which were attended by around 350 guests.

Wedding vows were exchanged at midnight in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, before a Hindu ceremony took place on the banks of the park’s lake. Mickey and Minnie Mouse were in attendance, and even joined the newlyweds for their very first dance. Later, guests were also seen dancing the night away along with Goofy.

Guests also feasted upon a banquet that fused Indian and Middle Eastern flavours, which was apparently inspired by Aladdin. Paris was chosen for the festivities due to its reputation for romance – as well as the fairytale setting provided by the theme park itself.

The bride wore four different wedding gowns over the course of the weekend celebration, including one that was a traditional white wedding dress.

Weddings at Disneyland Paris cost almost £30,000 upwards, and the resort provides specialist Wedding Planners to sort out everything from the wedding invitations to the food, drinks, dancing and decor.

The Bollywood wedding couple described their wedding weekend as a “dream come true” which should please the chiefs at Disneyland Paris, who reportedly subsidised the considerable cost of the wedding.

The landmark wedding was certainly a unique occasion, and one that none of the guests are likely to forget in a hurry.
